Fanthesea Palace of Elephants – Phuket, Thailand

Fanthsea

Peninsula Engineering provided mechanical and electrical design for this prestigious theme park show located in Phuket, Thailand. The show’s main feature is a live elephant entertainment act which utilizes dozens of trained elephants in a choreographed show. The building includes queue lines for the 3,000 seat theater, concession stands, retail stores and gang toilet rooms. The mechanical and electrical systems included water supply for domestic water, fire protection, irrigation as well as elephant bathing and elephant drinking water. A smoke purge system was designed to relieve pyrotechnics smoke, while animal odor control ventilation systems and elephant dung removal material handling systems were also featured. Electrical distribution systems were designed with an emergency power generator for operation during power outages as well as special effects systems that include sophisticated sound and lighting controls. The geographical location required large-capacity roof drainage systems and HVAC systems for humidity control. Attention to detail was necessary for minimizing mechanical equipment noise to accommodate theater acoustics.
