Sprint Headquarters Office Building
Peninsula Engineering, Inc. provided design of complete mechanical and electrical systems for a retrofit of the 240,000 sq ft headquarters building. This included removing approximately 260 individual water source heat pumps and converting the building to a chilled water central station air conditioning system. Additionally, wet pipe fire protection systems were added for the first time in this approximately 20-year-old building. Other upgrades included significant power distribution upgrades for clean power for the approximately 1,200 workstations within the building. Original high tech areas included redundant HVAC systems and computer grade power for raised floor data centers. The entire project was built with the building occupied with minimal disruptions to the occupants.
