John Elsea
Chairman

John Elsea serves as the chairman of Peninsula Engineering. He started with the firm in 1985 as Peninsula’s first full time employee. He plays a key role as the corporate face in the community and focuses on the strategic direction of the firm. Mr. Elsea’s leadership role includes a variety of responsibilities with American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), serving as past president of the Central Florida chapter as well as serving numerous regional and international roles for the organization. Mr. Elsea is a Leadership of Orlando graduate and has been a member of The Executive Committee (TEC) for over nine years. He has served as the president of the University Club of Orlando and currently serves on their long-term planning committee. Other community and industry roles include being a constant supporter of the Ronald McDonald House and their living facilities, a founding shareholder in Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and memberships in the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). He also maintains strong relationships spanning several decades with our owner clients, architectural and civil/structural engineering firms, as well as with contractors from every discipline and construction industry vendors which help facilitate our clients’ needs.
